Bio
Hi, I’m Terry Foley — a composer-lyricist and multi-instrumentalist based in New York City.
I write and perform across a bunch of musical spaces, but I have a special love for musical theater. As a writer, I’ve worked on shows like Redacted, XMAS!18, ValentinesX, and Explaining Elizabeth. On the music side, I’ve music directed productions like Footloose and Lemon Water, arranged orchestral scores for shows like The 129th and 130th Annual Varsity Shows and XMAS!17, and played in pit bands for In The Heights, Head Over Heels, Matilda, Urinetown, Rent, and more.
Outside of theater, I compose and perform original music with bands and ensembles of all kinds. I’ve toured across the U.S. with more than twenty different groups, and I’ve written music for everything from rock bands to chamber ensembles.
I also offer a wide range of music services — composing, arranging, orchestration, transcription, piano accompaniment tracks, and audition prep/coaching. Whether it’s a one-off track or a full score, I’m always excited to collaborate.
As a performer, I’ve been playing music for over 20 years, and I work professionally on piano, guitar, bass, drums, and saxophone. I also freelance as a composer for film, TV, games, podcasts, and dance.
